New Look 6692
If you didn’t see my first version of New Look 6692, I absolutely loved the dress but found the bodice a little loose. I planned to adjust for version 2 but totally forgot and ploughed straight into it.

It’s a great pattern I really recommend. Straight princess seams like this generally suit my figure and I like how you don’t really see the seam lines in this print. It’s pretty easy to fit, I’d just lose another half a cm for comfort and avoid flashing my little A cups.

The skirt is a perfect fit though! I made the view A bodice in size 12 with a view B skirt without the ruffle in size 18 skirt gathered into the waist.
Next time I really will go down to a size 10 in the upper chest and bust for a lovely close fit.

At the back I used the elastic channels as instructed (on version 1 I swapped these out for shirring).
And I skipped the side seam zipper again. Also these are the sleeves included in the pattern but I left off the elastic hems.

This fabric was from Rainbow Fabrics and is a medium weight crepe de chine. Its slightly sheer but can’t wear a slip with it because of the square front and back neckline.

I wore this dress to my surprise birthday lunch last year. It was definitely a surprise because it was two weeks before my birthday! I also wore it to surprise my mum for her 70th birthday. A good dress for birthday surprises.

It’s a bright and happy dress but I’d have preferred to add the ruffle to make it longer – sadly I ran out of fabric. I’m looking forward to sunny days when I can wear it again.
