Penguin biscuit jokes are the best.
Quick post here today. I’ve got a pretty simple make to share but it’s definitely easy to wear.
This is another Dixie Diy ballet dress. After my horse print version I knew I’d be making a few more as they’re great with tights and cardigans for work.
The black and white print jersey is from the rag market in Birmingham. It was £1 a metre and I still only used two metres for the print matching along the seams.
I cut out and overlocked the whole thing in under two hours.
I wish I’d used a straight skirt instead of the rounded one from the pattern so the dress would have a clean straight hem. Oh well. I’m not losing any sleep over that!
My mum says she thinks the dress is a little Christmassy. I suppose those geometric shapes look a bit like snowflakes.
Right then! That’s enough from me.
I’ll leave you be and let you enjoy the rest of your weekend.
Love it 🙂
Lovely dress. I can see how it could be Christmassy, but only after you suggested it.
Wow, a pound a metre, what a bargain! It looks great and does have a certain ‘Christmas-y’ look about it, your Mum’s right 🙂
What bargainous fabric – v envious of your ability to whip this up in such a short amount of time!

I love this pattern, so quick to make up and versatile too
A squidnapper!!! Hee hee that one cracked me up! Nice dress btw…
Lovely Amy! I’m all about the quick wins at the moment, so satisfying!
This is so cute on you! It’s a little Nordic, perhaps, the print, which is perfect for winter!
It does look Christmassy, and rather lovely too.
This looks really comfy. Got to love a quick make for instant gratification!
Looks very comfortable and easy to wear, a lovely black & white combination!
Suits you very nice too!
Do you know, I didn’t even notice the hem! Funny the things that stick out to us when we make things, eh?
Looking at this I get some serious fabric envy over here… I absolutely love black&white at the moment. I can see where your mum is coming from, but I don’t think it’s too christmassy. It rather reminds me of those winter jumper knitting patterns – in a good way! You look gorgeous!
Thank you! I like that it’s double purpose and can be Christmassy or not depending on the time of year.
Ooh very festive. I love the print, what a find!
Heehee thanks!
