Top 5s of 2013! The Hits
It’s nearly a brand new year so that means it’s time for a bit of reflection with the top 5 lists!

I am so proud of this jacket. I learnt so much and think it looks pretty smart. It was in daily rotation before winter hit. And I don’t think it’s scared me off jacket-making in the future
I won’t ramble on too much about this dress. Safe to say it’s an absolute winner in my eyes. And this lovely aeroplane lawn version is definitely my favourite.
My first craftsy course was brilliant. Christine Haynes was a lovely teacher and I finished up with a cute practical blouse that I have in regular use.
I’m pretty darn pleased with how polished this dress turned out even if I don’t have much opportunity to wear it. The lace matching turned out amazingly and I’m rather proud of my collar.
Not so obvious but this little dress has been a star in my wardrobe. Its mostly due to the soft drapey viscose. It skims over me in a flattering way and I love the print.
So there are my top 5 hits of this year. Next up are the dreaded misses!

Lovely makes! And they all have a really similar colour palette… slightly dark, slightly warm jewel tones, I’d say, plus black. Looks great on you! Thanks for joining in the Top5 lists! 🙂
Thanks for that Gillian! Very happy to take part. That’s exactly my palette. I had my colours done a few years ago and found it really confirmed a lot for me.
Excellent makes! I can see why you chose these as your winners. 🙂 My faves are the pintucked blouse (I NEED one!) and the maroon dress. But then, who can resist airplane fabric? 😉

I fully agree with your choices! But it’s simplicity 1755 that I remember most fondly. I’ve bought the pattern myself, after you’d reminded me of it, and am soooo looking forward to making it. Your Anise is also stunning. Roll on warmer weather I say!

a great collection of creations, my favourite has to be the 2nd one, mainly because I got to see it in person in Birmingham and it really was stunning! I look forward to seeing many, many more in 2014 xxx

The Anise is totally stunning in real life and it makes me happy to see it because we had such a blast on the day when you bought the fabric! Needless to say, I also really love all of your Simplicity 2444 dresses as well! x

Your Sassy Librarian Blouse is so cute! That was one of the first classes I took when I started sewing a couple years ago. I really should make another since I so much enjoyed that class.

What a collection of great makes for 2013. I think I need to get on the Simplicity 2444 bandwagon too – I’ve seen a few versions of this dress and it’s lovely.
