Hello and welcome to my blog! I’m Amy.  You might recognise me from social media, my YouTube channel or as former Editor of Love Sewing.

I started sewing in 2010 after taking adult evening classes in dressmaking and was instantly hooked. Now I’ve made hundreds of garments and want to share my tips with you! There will be pattern reviews, fabric advice and sewing tutorials. See my Sewing Room Tour here!

Truth be told, I’m rather partial to a strong gin cocktail, a well stocked library and a fluffly cat.  I love chatting with likeminded sewists, so please leave a message on here or on my other platforms. I reply to everyone. So grab a cuppa and start reading.

  1. Wow – if you’ve only been sewing since 2010 the things you’ve made are amazing. Puts me to shame and I’ve been sewing since the 1980’s!

I can’t believe how much you have sewn. You must spend all your spare time sewing. Particularly liked the starry dress and blue jacket. Well done – a real inspiration.

  5. You have a wonderful, well laid out blog. I look foward to checking it out more!

Hi – as you took part in the #sewingsanta last year, I thought you might like to know about this year’s version, #stitchingsanta. Find out about it here – http://sewchet.com/2015/10/13/stitchingsanta-blog-christmas-gift-swap/

  10. It was your Two-face costume blog post that helped me to sew my own! And it turned out great. I discovered that I really like sewing this way! Thank you so much.

Like others I can’t believe you have only been sewing since 2010. Love the things you have done – extremely inspirational. I have only been sewing for 3 yrs and wish I had discovered it sooner as I am older and not so quick to learn the skills. Looking forward to seeing other things you are making. Thanks for posting and helping us less experienced sewists.

I saw that you made the new look dress pattern 6069 several years ago. It comes with a purse pattern. I’ve made both the dress and purse, but I somehow managed to lose the second page of the directions with purse instructions. I’d like to make the purse again though I never plan to make the dress. Would it be possible for you to send me a picture of the purse instructions if you still have the pattern? I would truly appreciate it. Thank you.

  13. I love the outfits you have made! What is your favorite dress fabric to sew with? I am not good at choosing fabrics.
