Why did I move?

Moving

Well I never used to be a young lady (haha lady!) with hobbies.
Ridiculously, I put off learning dressmaking until well into my twenties. Think of all that wasted time! But this gave me hobby one and led to hobby two.

Blogging and sharing my sewing adventures with all of you lovely folk has been such a wonderful experience.

I wanted to take my skills further by teaching myself css website design. And here you see the results. There are a few little things left to tinker with but I hope you like what I’ve come up with!

  1. Congratulations on the new site! It’s looking good, and I’m all updated. I’m dead impressed with your css skills- I’ve never been able to make it work for me, so well done on wrangling those pesky electrons.

  2. I love the new look site, and really glad your sewing has inspired you to blog and then to design. Kudos 🙂

  7. hello pretty new digs! i’m excited about the CSS. i’m still trying to force my font bigger.

  8. And, here I am now, over at the new digs!! Looking good Amy! How exciting that you made the site yourself? It is still powered by WordPress though. How does this work? Did you pay and upgrade to have more options? Or you made the site from scratch? Bit of a newb, my WP blog is the only ‘site’ I’ve ever worked on.

  9. Oh, I think your blog may have eaten my comment. I had commented earlier letting you know I was following your new blog on bloglovin’ and also wanted to know how your new blog worked? Is it that you upgraded in WordPress? Or is it now your own site? At the bottom, it still says powered by WordPress, so I was not sure how this worked. My wordpress site, i upgraded just so that it does not say .wordpress at the end, but other than that, I am limited to the themes and etc. provided by wordpress. And, what is css web design? Thanks Amy! I’m a newb as the only website/blog I’ve ever worked on is this one in WordPress.

      Hello!
I bought a domain but I use WordPress as a content management system (write and holds posts, manage comments, etc). I then have a cascading stylesheet (a css) written by me behind the scenes. I couldn’t upgrade my wordpress.com blog as someone had already bought my address so I had to move away from wordpress. Turned out to be really great as like you say wordpress is a little restrictive about themes etc. Though I do think you can customise a little. Hope that answers your questions!

      1. Ah, very good, thanks! I’m going to be giving my blog an overhaul/makeover soon so am trying to figure out my options.

  10. I love the new design! Very clean and cheerfull!

Thank you! That is what I was aiming for
