Rabbits and Roses

image

Another Vogue 1102 hack to share today!

This one was made from a Makower rabbit print cotton that I got from the bargainous remnant sale at Samual Taylors.

It usually sells for £10 a metre. I got two metre cuts for £2.50 each!

I’m not sure the print is entirely me. It might be a bit too cutesy. But given the price I thought what the heckers.

I lined it with a rose pink polyester that I got from, yep you guessed it, the remnant bin as well! £1.50 for a 1.5 metre cut. It matches the colour of the roses the Rabbits are dancing around.

Even my thread colour was named “Rose”.

It really is the perfect staple work dress!

So I’m afraid you’ll probably see a few more from me yet. (Sorry, not sorry!)

Thank you! Glad you think it’s tolerable cute. I try and avoid childish prints given I look like a teenager and try to get gown up novelty prints if that makes sense?

Thank you! Gotta love a bargain 🙂

  6. Cute fabric and I love the back V. This pattern could quite easily be made into a very chic evening dress. You need a rabbit ear hair band to complete your outfit tho!

  7. The fabric is really cute, but I don’t think it’s TOO cute. Plus way to go on the bargain cuts!

  12. Fabulous bargains, and what a lovely dress. Really like the back neckline.

  13. BRIGHT EYES BURNING LIKE FIRE

Sorry dude. This dress just makes me think… well, actually not of Watership Down or Art Garfunkel, but that terrifying/hilarious bit in The League of Gentlemen where Pops sings Bright Eyes. But that’s not a bad thing. Pops is one of the best/scariest characters in that show.

Anyway – this is a great dress and I love the v-back, and hurrah for remnant bin bargains. Winner!

Hahaha poor Patricia. “I’m hot and hard. Like a tube of Murray Mints left out in the sun”.

  14. This fabric is to die for! I really love the mix of the fabric, print and pattern – looks fab on you!
